I’m so tired…

Let me give you an example. A woman comes to me. She is exhausted. She has been exhausted for years. She eats well, she sleeps reasonably well, her life is not in crisis. And yet, she cannot shake this bone-deep tiredness. This sense of heaviness that has no clear explanation.

And when we go into her family system together, we discover that her mother was also exhausted. And her grandmother before that. Women in her family who worked themselves to the bone, who were never allowed to rest, who carried everything for everyone and asked for nothing in return.

And here she is,  doing the same. Not because she chose it consciously. But because it is the pattern she inherited. The loyalty she carries without even knowing it.

This is what Family Constellations reveals. The invisible threads that connect us to our family, to our ancestors, to stories that were never spoken out loud but were passed down through the body.

So I want to ask you: is anyone in your family also exhausted? Was your mother tired? Your grandmother? Is fatigue a pattern,  something that just seems to run in the family, like a quiet inheritance nobody questions?

Because if it is, it can be worked with. It can be seen, named, and released. Not overnight. But it can shift.

And there is something else I see often. Sometimes fatigue is a form of loyalty. A way of staying connected to someone we love who suffered. As if resting would mean abandoning them. As if our exhaustion is a way of saying: I see you. I feel what you felt. I carry it with you.

If any of this resonates with you, please hear this: you are allowed to put it down. You are allowed to rest. Your rest does not dishonor anyone who came before you. In fact, your healing is a gift to them too.

With love,
Marine Sélénée
